The Interface is a computational storymaking activity that positions STEM learning as expressive. Notes and instructions on this site will help you build your own Interface.
Expressive STEM learning activities weave art and computating together. In my university courses and community education workshops with Families Learning Together, learners build interactive stories, games, and art with diverse materials (e.g., cardboard, paint, tape, and computer code) combined.
In expressive STEM, everyone learns together. When challenges are encountered we meet them as a community, showing and sharing our failures and successes, together.
To teach expressive STEM, FLT centers on exploratory play and tinkering. We've come to think of the way we teach as the core of the Interface.
Thanks for exploring the Interface!
